Today is the day we hang Guild members’ quilts for our exhibition which opens tomorrow at Village Market in Gigiri. The doors will be closed, but people walking by outside will be able to see a glimpse of what will be on offer during the show. Exhibition open hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Friday, Saturday and Sunday of this weekend.
Hand-quilting and machine-quilting demonstrations will be ongoing, and we will have “white glove ladies” to help visitors get a better look at the craftsmanship and remarkable detail of the quilts on display. We’ll be raffling tickets for three wonderful quilts made by the Guild, and we’re always on the lookout for quilters new to Kenya and new quilters who want to learn more about patchwork quilting by joining the Kenya Quilt Guild.
